The Tester

If one is into automobiles and wondered how to check the efficiency of it's braking efforts, the one should understand a break tester. One will find that there are basically three kinds of brake testers and all calculate just how good the brakes are on an automobile. Let's look a little further at the three kinds below.

3 Types

Let's start with the Roller which includes the chassis that is a roller driven system, the floor which is mechanical and electric motors. The brakes are tested by rollers which measure and brake force transducer and safety sensors. While testing the vehicle, the brake force is measured by the computer. A calculation will be taken of the force of the right and left force of the axle and of the brake. This all plays into getting the much needed information for checking and ensuring the efficiency of one's break with a Roller tester.

Next up is the plate brake tester which is made up of measuring plates that are parallel. The parallel measuring plates move and they are on the force transducers. A measurement is taken when an automobile passes over them. The individual plates slip forward from the motion and action from the brakes and this allows the force of the brakes to be calculated.

Lastly, the third type of brake tester is a hand held brake tester. They are called decelerometers. These decelerometers is important during road test because they actually measure the brakes' dynamic force when the road tests are done on the automobile. By acting as an acclerorometer it calculates the braking efficiency during deceleration of the vehicle.
